Some people even today say they are still rendezvous in a Juhu apartment near old old Chandan cinema - although I dont think that would be true as it could not have escaped the eagle eyes and shrill voice of Mrs Jaya Bachchan ( who would definitely be a earful like she is in parliament if she saw or got to know this). But in any case they are and will always be my favourite on screen couple from the old timers followed by SRK and Kajol from the nearly old timers !!

So I thought it was VeRRRRY rude of Mr Bachchan to snub his ex leading lady gorgeous Rekha so viasbly in public. That she was embarassed by this public display of rudeness was apparent. And I thought the only courteous Bachchan was Aishwarya who hugged her warmly ( or was she only buying time for AB to escape from the moment press cameras have been poised and waiting for about 50 years ??? ) there goes the suspicious part of me thinking nonsense again and knowing blog censorships ( the way they are nowadays and the Bachchan family's major scoping for joining politics I had better apologise quickly for thinking aloud but my bitchy better half just would not be silenced !!

In fact I had a very sinful and mean thought while looking at these photos of Amitabh Bachhan snubbing Rekha - maybe Abhishek and his sister would have been much better looking had Rekha been his/her mom and had AB and Rekha tied the knot or not !!

So I have been reading a lot lately about Abhishek Bachchan's new movie Delhi 6. It coems with great credentials ( Range De Basanti director Rajyesh Mehra has directed it) and its being comapred to SRK's Swades !!

But I also heard that Abhishek Bachhan has only 11 lines in Delhi 6 thats is he speaks dialogue in the film only 11 times ( why - he could have borrowed wife Aishwarya Rai's american twangy accent - so obvoius at the Tyra Banks show - if he needed to appear more NRI). The consolation is apparently for him that he narrates the whole story and so was at the dubbing studio for most of the shooting ( wow talk about being camera shy !!)

Well my favourite review was this one which summarised the minus points in the movie ( you know I cant be kind and good its beyond my nature ) -

"Minus points of Delhi 6
1. Absolutely slow and sluggish plot development in the beginning, and a weak, stupid end
2. The director takes on more than he can chew.
3. The Ram Leela sequences, which are one too many; infused with regularity only to slow down the already lethargic pace.
4. The end makes you scream at the writers. Abhishek Bachchan dies and goes to heaven where he meets papa(Amitabh Bachchan of course). Big B sends him back to earth and Abhishek Bachchan is saved. Oh my! Lord of Lords. You cannot make a bigger blunder than that! In fact, frankly when Abhishek Bachchan is mistakenly killed, it created some sort of impact. But then the next thing, you know he is resurrected!
5. Distinct similarity to Swades. There are a couple of scenes, especially when Sonam Kapoor is supposed to meet her prospective bridegroom and also towards the end when Abhishek has to take his mother back to the US, that give you a feeling of déjà vu.
6. The title song of Delhi 6 is curtailed. There could be other parts snipped instead."
